This song is about taking chances. Originally I wrote this song as a solo piece for looper and yet Linnea arranged it for the biggest piece on the album. Linnea is my Swedish friend who is some kind of a magician with voices, so it felt natural to have her translate my initial idea of the loops into an a capella song. The process was intense, I remember that she created the voices in her head and chose to sing every single part herself first, and then transcribe it to make the scores! When I heard her sing the first version of the full arrangement, I was blown away. Then, after everybody recorded their part, the intensity of all these female voices made it clear that this should be the opening track. And being the opening track, I added the birds that Pennie Taylor recorded in the jungle as a perfect compliment to all the dreamy voices.
lyrics
Just go
If the road is lost,
and you don’t know where to start,
Follow your heart, just go.
If it’s circling around you
Leaving dizziness instead
You’re waltzing through your fears
All the worries in your head
Just too far to reach you
No answer would provide
Oh, do we have to run,
or do we have to hide?
It’s very easy to get lost, just don’t worry about it
Sometimes you have to get lost to find something
Something that you didn’t know you needed
Before you explore the unknown.
If the road is lost,
and you don’t know where to start,
follow your heart, follow your heart,
follow your heart, just go.
